Since graduating from Dublin IT and Trinity College, Dublin in 1988, David has worked in several practices both in the UK and Ireland, joining OMP in 1993 as a Team Leader. His first task was to lead the team involved the design and construction programme for the Herbert Park Lane Apartments, Hotel and Office Development, Ballsbridge, Dublin which won the Irish Town Planning Institute Urban Design Award the year after completion. Prior to this, he has contributed to practices in Australia and Colombia.

In 1997, his acceptance of a directorship, along with the other two appointees that year, contributed to the change in direction and expansion of the practice into a stronger and larger team based structure.
David leads a team of 13 design and technical professionals with experience a variety of skills including all forms of construction methods in timber and PC concrete and has completed a portfolio of mixed use and purely residential schemes in those years as a Director including:
Gallen Mills mixed Retail, Cinema and residential Development, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin for a Private Developer
High Density Housing Development for Ballymun Regeneration Ltd at Ballymun with the new form of Government Contract.
High Density Mixed Residential, Commercial and Retail Development at Pelletstown, Dublin 15, including a new Town Centre for Castlethorn Const.
